superchiem 05-08-2008, 11:14 PM Well wanted to start a group buy for the piaa xtreme white plus bulbs. These are direct replacement bulbs. They are brighter than most of the bulbs I've had and last longer. The only down fall is they can be expensive.

So I emailed www.stylingtrucks.com to see what type of discount we could get. One of the sales guys said 10 people minimum at 59.99 + 4 dollars shipping.
So who's interested?
04tacofan 05-09-2008, 12:01 AM so 64 bucks? i'd like to hear a little more about how long they last, etc. I had some hella H4's or something like that and one burnt out after like 5 or 6 months, which sucks cause the stock bulbs are extremely dull/weak.
but i'll do a little research...
so i suppose i might be in, lol
superchiem 05-09-2008, 12:20 AM I had them for about 2 years then one went out. Then 1 month later the other. I have silver stars now which last 4-6 months then burn out... those cost me 40 bucks a pair. So 59.99 looks like a good price to me. I'll ask stylingtrucks.com if we can get more off if we get another 10 peeps...
Chris D. 05-09-2008, 12:59 AM who makes the factory bulbs? why not see if they make aftermarket bulbs and go with that company..
I've gone through 5 sets of aftermarket bulbs and my factory ones still work great..
Must be something to it :)

Thanks,

disassemble 05-09-2008, 11:33 AM get HID's stop waisting your money... who ever doesn't have HID's is a sucker... first, it makes your car look classy, second, you get more visions.. third your stupid for not already owning them.
Chris D. 05-09-2008, 12:01 PM piaa xtreme white plus's were amongst the group of aftermarket bulbs that
only lasted 6 months or less sorry to say.. I got mine for 50 shipped off of ebay.
HID's are retarded without a projector and anything
above 5K calvin is pretty useless for light output..
I've never seen a headlight beam and thought, "that vehicles classy"
disassemble 05-09-2008, 12:14 PM let me rephrase, on my truck it looks sick..
i'm saying when you see HID"s the first reaction is "oo wow what kinda car is that?" and then you realize its a taco and people are baffled... do as you will
Ramphonic 05-09-2008, 12:21 PM I currently have these
http://www.powerbulbs.com/images/large/bluevisionh4.jpg
The company is overseas so it takes about 2 weeks to get them. But highly recommended. I've had them for 1.5 years have a nice brighter bluish white color and come with a set of super white mini bulbs I use mine for the license plates. Cost me about 30 dollars USD
Plus I have a 10% discount code KAFFE1746 (may only work once?)
glassdoc 05-09-2008, 01:30 PM I can't support PIAA any longer.. They completely lost my business after the set of 5120's I had purchased for $362 melted the mounting bracket screws. I contacted them had not even been a year, and they said "too bad".. For $362, you'd think they would stand behind them, some...
01TACOMA SD 05-09-2008, 04:04 PM i have a set of these. had them on a little over 3 years now. I like them. it's hard to match the corner lights with this set. tried the PIAA 168 extreme white and it was a little off color. my first set was Koito whitebeam and those were a good set also. it matched perfectly with a pair of raybrig 168 bulbs. had them for a year and a half till one burned out. Koito is the company who makes the factory bulbs...group buy price is regular price. ask him to drop it more.

When I see HID's the first thing I think is its just another douche in an Acura, Chrysler or Beemer..
PNP kits when I see those glare monsters I think, what a dlckhead,
It's not like he can see any better down the road than stock
bulbs and he just gave 100+ bucks to China for garbage....
its all stupid looks crap and I can see just fine with oem bulbs..
People just want em for the blue light and you can't see shiet..
HID's are about to be old news..
When those LED's come out, you'll see cars with little to no
headlight shaping up front.. just a series of mini projector dots.. :waytogo:
MatosTaco 05-10-2008, 12:09 AM LOL Chris, its Kelvin not Calvin. And the factory bulbs are made by Sylvannia(my factory headlights say so). Funny I used some generic blue bulbs and they have lasted over a year, no sign of burning out.
02TACO7714 05-13-2008, 10:20 AM I had some Ebay special blue bulbs on my old car and on my taco... they all only lasted about 5-6 months... then i put the oem ones back in and paired those with some Hella 500 driving lights and it seems to be the best solution.
those blue lights always tend to go out at the worst times... i was in the middle of nowhere one night when my low beams just decided to die so i had to drive all the way home with high beams on. through a city and on the highway... people hated me hahaha
