*Crhis D. my wheels are **Varrstoen** and they look like *Rotas... wich it was my 2nd choice.

Can you guys tell me what I can do to lowered it without -blocks- or flips?

I want to get as low as possible without losing the weight that I can carry on the truck.

Shocks?
Springs?

Search for the QA1 mod for the front and go with custom leaf packs for the rear, you can get them made to support whatever weight you want, but blocks will not lower your load capacity, FYI

QA1 coilovers up front, Air suspension in the rear. Contact Beefed Taco, he's setup a members truck so he can be low and still carry a motorcycle out back. Your wheels do not look like Rotas, both yours and the Rotas are imitations of the Volk TE37, with the Varrstoens being the more accurate replica.

Good to know!

I will hit Beefed when I am ready for next step and get everything ready to mount out of the box the same day.

I know he is one of the best in this kind of stuff.

Re: Show off your 95.5-04 wheels/tires (5 lug)

I went with some OEM rims off an '08 Mustang GT. I'm currently trying to find a clever way to black out and smooth over the raised pony emblems on the caps.

Tires are 225/55R17 Dunlop Winter Sports (I plan on changing them after winter). On full lock the tires just miss rubbing the frame by about 1/16th" but they will rub the front sway bar.

Wheel specs: 17x8", +45mm offset, ~6.375" backspacing (calculated estimate), 70.5mm hub bore, conical lug holes (so the lugs can be carefully used to center the wheels).

2008 Mustang GT rims? They fit *that* well? Very cool. I think your setup looks slick. I had no idea the newer Mustang 5-lug bolt pattern fits on the year tacoma you've got.

As far as clever ways to black out, have you looked at the results from using dipyourcar on rims?

https://www.dipyourcar.com/pages.php?pageid=23

I've not tried any of it yet, but I'm seriously considering using their flat black to semi-permanently "test" a flat black on my whole truck before using permanent flat black paint.

Despite being semi-permanent, the stuff is supposed to hold up well to abuse and there is lots of hum on the 'net about people using this on their rims with good results, just do some googling.

Minimum rubbing at full lock, very nice.

Thanks for the compliments, man! I've gotten some pretty positive feedback about them so far but I know a lot of people think it's stupid, too. I'm super happy with them, tho and that's what matters. The guy that sold them to me was nice enough to let me put them on the truck and test them out in the parking lot a bit before I handed over the $ for 'em. So naturally, I was really excited to see that they fit as well as they do, no modifications needed.

I haven't looked into that site yet, however I have bought a can of plasti-dip and figured I'd try blacking out one of them with several thick coats of it and see how it turns out. The trick I haven't found a solution to (apart from using masking tape) is how to keep the part I'm dipping round and centered. I'd like to keep the rims the same finish, and just get rid of the ponies. I also just noticed looking at the wheel picture that I really need to paint my rear brake drums black...hello rusty!!!
