After market rim sizes while towing and having a big payload? No drop

I often have two bikes in my truck and also will be towing a 6 x 12 trailer a lot so I'm a lil timid to buy after market wheels for my X. Any suggestions on what sizes I should be safe with. I'd like to fill my wheel well a bit but don't want to rub a lot. Thanks.

Do you have rubbing issues with the stock wheels / tires?

If you can determine how much free space (in the wheel wells) you have left under max load conditions that should give you an idea how much larger a tire you might want. After all - it's really the tire (not the wheel) that fills up the wheel well.

Thanks for replying. I haven't hooked the trailer up yet but I will be using it soon to drive too Arizona and after that other things too. With the stock tire and two bikes in the back I don't have any problems. I'm mainly concerned about the trailer and the tongue wait situation.

If you haven't actually used the trailer yet, I'd recommend using it with the stock wheels / tires first - to get an idea how much clearance you have to work with. Delaying the aftermarket wheels / tires will give you a chance to make smarter selections once you actually go ahead with the purchase.

Thanks for the good advise. I was planning on getting the rim upgrade before I left but maybe I'll wait. Has anyone had experience with this situation ?
