Re: flatbed manufacturer

I've occasionally seen what appear to be 'retail' flatbeds on trucks, but I can't find any links to such things just now...

For Tacos, flatbeds are most common (and most commonly discussed) among the offroaders. I remember that some of the offroad fab shops have done flatbeds on a custom basis.

Most of the ones I've seen or read about, however, have been custom jobs - often done by the owner...

All Pro Offroad makes a flatbed kit for $399. It's designed for rock crawlers, but it might be of interest to you...

Re: flatbed manufacturer

For a basic off-the-shelf utility flatbed, there's the Ute Tray. These are manufactured by Ute Ltd - www.uteltd.com .

The Utes are based on the sort of utility flatbeds popular in Australia / New Zealand. There are a number of accessories available for them.

Not sure how many vendors offer Ute Trays here in the USA. 4X4 Connection offers Ute Trays and accessories... Check:

Re: flatbed manufacturer

If you're looking for flatbed ideas... There was a webpage that once provided a huge collection of flatbed photos. The website went missing 2 or more years ago. However, a salvaged version is still available at Web Archive:

http://web.archive.org/web/200303011..._the_bunch.htm

Given its age, I don't know how many of the original photos are still accessible. Still, off-roaders still point to this page as the best collection of flatbed ideas ever...

Both Front Range Offroad and Badland Bumpers offer flatbed fabrication on a custom basis. Front Range is in Colorado and Badland is in Washington.

Finally.... The one truck forum / site that seems to have the most material on flatbeds is Pirate 4X4 ( http://www.pirate4X4.com ).

Yep -- it's pretty neat... To give another example, the single best writeup on stripping out the interior of a Taco XtraCab only exists (partially) at Web Archive.
