License Plate Mounting (Front)

Anyone have any ideas for a better license plate mount on the front bumper? I took the cheezy dealer frame and paper AD off the front of my 04 Prerunner and it was just screwed on through the plastic on the bumper. I'm in Cali, so the laws are pretty strict as to having your front plate on, but I'd like to secure it better than just having 2 screws. Any ideas for a more secure mount???

Thanks!

the screws have beefy threads, so it's on there pretty good. however, I currently am not sporting a front plate, because it ruins the look. Never had a problem with tickets.

you could fab up a mount, or go for a new-type front end. Bull bar, or brush guard.

if you wanted to keep the plate in the same place but just use better hardware or whatever, you could always use toggle bolts

hmm since you already have holes you should just keep the license plate on... my TRD front didnt have mounts for a license plate.. and i wasnt bout to drill it.. so f*ck new jersey.. i drilled 2 holes in the license plate and used the same screws that hold the small mesh piece in to mount the license plate...

Only thing I don't like about putting a plate in the window is that it could become a potential flying object towards your passenger if you were rear ended hard.

I know its improbable, but still completely possible.

I think it's the same as not having one in the front at all.

That's exactly why it's still illegal to have it in the windshield.
