help with led

back a few years ago i did the map light mod where it turns on with the dome light when i unlock my doors or open them on my 06 taco so i swapped out the bulbs for led's now when it gets damp outside ie rain or snow the map light led bulbs start to turn on but when it gets dry outside they turn off can someone help with this because it's driving me crazy

My first guess is that you've got an exposed wire or poorly-insulated connection somewhere (probably up overhead) that's allowing a transient short when moisture is present.

LED's don't require as much current as incandescent bulbs, so the electrical "bleed-over" wherever it's occurring probably wouldn't have to be much.

Another possibility is that there's a similar issue at one of the door switches that activate the dome light. Those would more obviously be exposed to moisture risks.

Now that I think about it, I'd suggest investigating the door switches (and associated wiring) first.

one thing i forgot is it doesn't do it when i have incadescent bulbs in there

Yep - that seems to indicate there's some low-level current passing through the circuit - enough to light up an LED, but not enough to light up an incandescent.

Same problem happened with me. It was all due to poor insulation nothing else
