Hey Enola (diagram request inside)

Would it be possible to get every schematic and diagram you have available for a 98 2rz auto (the main harness and engine in particular)? I'm trying to get my wiring back as stock as possible, from the previous owners, and have no reference to go by. Plus, now I don't hear the fuel pump turn on and the engine won't crank, so I'm hoping to find something I'm missing. Huge thanks if you can help out.

Re: Hey Enola (diagram request inside)

I was actually able to trace it to the ignition itself. I had a hunch it was a wiring problem. I have a 4Runner ignition, and either the pinout is different from a Tacoma or a previous owner removed a wire from the plug. So the starter wasn't actually receiving a signal to engage.

When I bought the truck it was hardwired with a "push button start". That's why I need to sort out this mess.

An overall wiring diagram has been sent to your registered email address. It's not as easy to use as a circuit-specific diagram, but it covers most everything.

If you want a wiring diagram for a particular circuit, post what you need here on the forum.

Re: Hey Enola (diagram request inside)

Those are perfect, thank you. It confirmed what I thought. Apparently I'm missing the black/white wire from my connection.

It appears these diagrams have the pinouts as well. However, I'm having a hard time understanding how to read them. Care to explain to a simple mind how to read them?

Look at the first 2 pages of the overall diagram. Those pages provide a basic key to understanding the symbology and terminology.

Which pinouts are you interested in?

Re: Hey Enola (diagram request inside)

Yeah, after I made that post i went an re-read the diagram and think I have it figured out.

I'm mostly interested in the two connections coming off the ignition tumbler. Just wanting to make sure all of it is in correct order.
