Question loosening torsion bars (PreTaco)

I tried to lower my truck by lossening the torrions.
There are 2 nuts on the bolt for some reason I can nto get either of them loose.
I need to break them free to be able to loosen the torrisions
Correct?
Any Ideas?
Suggestions?

Please Help

Re: loosening torrisions

Correct, one of the bolts acts as a locking bolt for the other. Should be the top bolt if I remember right. Soak them in wd-40 or something similar if you are having problems. But be sure to make the same amount of turns on each side. Also measure the distance from the tire to the fender on each side to make sure it's level. Then tighten the locking nut back up. Get an alignment ASAP. Also if it rides rough, remove/replace/trim down your front bumpstops. Also remember you won't have as much suspension travel so you will have a rougher ride due to that.

Re: loosening torrisions

I still having a problem with this.
Those damn nuts wont break loose.
Also could I just flip my ball joints?
That would give me a 3in drop right?
Do I need a kit to do this?
What are the disavantges to doing a ball joint flip.
Thanks Again

Get some new spindles to drop it, then crank down your torsions. Guarantee your ride will be alot better. Let the wd-40 or some penetrating oil sit for a while before you try to bust the bolts loose.

Alignment and some new shocks too, OEM shocks won't cut it and will blow.

Re: loosening torrisions

when i had my pretaco i hosed those nuts down with liquid wrench and then broke them loose. i didnt have a spindle but i bought sway away power bars and then ground off 2 of the splines and rotated the bars so it would drop the truck so i didnt have to have my adjusters super loose. i didnt run any bumps and i had toxic shocks. truck sat so low. i only had 15s but the frame sat about 2 1/2 off the ground. and it rode a bit stiff but it was a sporty stiff. handled amazing

Nothing else to really tell you bro. You're gonna have to get em loose one way or another. I'd just use some more pentrating oil and take an impact to it to get em loose then.

How about the ball joint flip idea?
What you think?
Which will give me better alignment?
If I flip the ball joints will have have to change them back when I bag it?
Thanks again

Re: loosening torrisions

Hey I read your specs and like a lot, post up some pics please.
As for the torsions i payed to get mine droped was like 50$ and then i put some Beltech Nitros and it rides stiff but I can live with it.
