Gear shift stick and knob shake at high rpms

When I get in high rpms in my 2.4L 5 spd. The stick and shift knob start shaking......is this normal or is it a sign saying my transmission is wearin out?

I've never had that prob unless i hit the rev limiter. I mean it vibrates a bit at high revs, but not like liolent shake.

Never happened until I went with the LC SSK. Shimming the spring helped a bit. I'm figuring adding mass (clamped to theshifter under the boot) will help more.
