2rz oil leak ? need help

my mother use a 98 twd reg cab 2rz auto for her daily driver to work . when we bought it two years ago it had 48,000 on it now it has 160,000 . her harmonic balancer went out about 5 months ago , had it fixed , i changed the valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket as well. here lately its been leaking some oil . it drips from the drain plug and oil pan but cant pinpoint where its coming from . does anybody know where else this motor may leak from?

2rz does not have harmonic balencer..ummm.. did you replace it or get it replaced...... and as far as leaks.. hell the drain plug likes to leak unless you have a good gasket on the plug itself, and the stock one is not known for longevity

dumpted since 2/15/08 MMMMMM boos t

Re: 2rz oil leak ? need help

oil level sender, underneath exhaust man. towards the front about half way up,
check oil filter and the aluminum arm it is screwed into where it meets the block

was the front oil seal replaced when the crank pulley was done?

also the dipstick O-ring where it plugs into the base of the timing cover on the front of the motor.

On the intake side of the motor there is not much that can leak

last but not least, the rear main seal, that would be leaking from the bottom of the trans bell housing, but would be motor oil, blackish color

I don't know if anyone else has something to add.

Spray the motor down good at a high pressure car wash, run it for a while, then crawl under there and poke around, hard to find a leak on a filthy motor.

here's what works for me:

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...pe=797&PTSet=A

if you cant see the link, go to partsamerica.com and search "oil drain plug gasket" , it's the white nylon one.
