Made some fog lights from scratch.

Came out better than I thought they would.

I had reoccurring issues with finding a fog light kit that fit my KBD valence. Some were really crappy and ultimately not a great fit. So, I took some 1 1/2 inch aluminum flat bar and made some stout brackets (painted them too). Ended up using pvc pipe for the encasing, lexan for the lens, and some China led ebay panels for lighting. Painted the pvc black with a silver/reflective inside. Used thumb screws to mount the fixtures onto the brackets. These are only about an inch and a half thick, including the bracket.

Shazzzzam.

Re: Made some fog lights from scratch.

Thanks for the kudos guys.

Chris, here is the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140596497116...84.m1497.l2649

A search using keywords: 12v led panel smd 5050, will also yield promising results.

Took about a week and change to get to the house from China.
My panel contains 48 SMD LEDs. It's a lot better than I thought t would be, still pretty straining on the eyes from close proximity, even in the daylight.

Re: Made some fog lights from scratch.

Can you take a pic at night of a view more in the front of the truck to see how much light they produce and the pattern, without the headlights being on?

As in from behind the wheel? Or hunker down with the beam hitting the camera head on? Eh, I'll do both.
