? Under the hood insulation shield ?

Just notice that the 03 SR5 Taco V6 4x4 does not come equipped with under the hood insulation shield. did it ever with previous year? Does the Limited version have it?

I also notice that on Honda Accord; the EX version (top-of-line) has hood insulation shield, but not the LX (next-to-top)

? Will I encounter any problem if I install one?

TIA,

my 95 doesn't have one. i think its more of a sound insulation rather than heat. you gotta have no engine sound in a sedan.

Re: ? Under the hood insulation shield ?

My 02 sr5 v6 4x2 came with one. Why? I'm not sure. I haven't seen it on too many other tacos. I kind of do like having the extra heat insulation with the s/c right nest to the hood.

Re: ? Under the hood insulation shield ?

it was on 95-00 3.4's that they gave them hood insulation... while the 2.7's (and 2.4's) were left without it.... until now where they are all the same...

Re: ? Under the hood insulation shield ?

my '01 prerunner didn't come with one. I just installed Dynamat's Hoodliner a week ago. It works pretty well for heat/accoustics & it looks really nice. No problems what-so-ever =D

That's cool !

Where did you get the Dynamat's Hoodliner? And how many $$?

How do you install it? Lots of hole drilling?

I hate to have to drill holes. In my neck of the woods, bare metal = rust fast.

Re: ? Under the hood insulation shield ?

got it off of eBay for $50 + shipping.

no drilling at all... very simple install... just degrease under the hood, cut the hoodliner to fit your taco with a razor blade, & then apply. nothing to it =D
