I would like to create a list of performance mods that are the biggest wastes of money for new Tacoma owners and others thinking about buying them. I don't want people to fall into the same traps I did. I'll get the list going:

1. Air Intake Kits (K&N, Injen, Volant, Airaid, etc.)
2. All Throttle Body Spacers
3. Tornado Fuel Saver Thingie
4. Those eBay listings that claim to add 10-20 HP and all they send you is a resistor

Other options for the above:

1. Do the deckplate mod: http://www.customtacos.com/tech/index.php?page=index_v2&id=85&c=5
2. They don't do anything except hiss like a snake
3. Doesn't work as advertised
4. Crock of s***

Can anyone think of anything else?

I still have my stock airbox and intake tube but I can't seem to make myself remove something I paid $250 for. I sure could use that $250 that I wasted almost 2 years ago. I need new tires and want Bridgestone Revos and them damn things aren't cheap!

Items I've W A S T E D money on:

Injen Intake: $180 (LOUD!)
Downey Header: $75 (No noticeable change)
Magnaflow Muffler: $110 (LOUD!)

I've lost alot of money just making my truck louder when I could've done that by just removing the effing muffler!....oh well, live and learn.

i dont know about the FIPK by K&N. I did notice a difference in performance. May not have been much but was something
you also let more dirt in your motor by using a K&N...they are the worst filter to use.....yeah you may gain more power from more air, but more air means more dirt in the motor, and whats your motor worth to you..... here is a link to what I am talking about...
